Tools for photographing the night sky Artists ToolsTools for photographing the night sky by Kaz-D
Photographing the night sky was one of my new years resolutions. I wanted to capture the stars where we live because very soon they'll be turning on the street lights and ruining the views that we have. Sometimes when the conditions are particularly good we get an amazing view of the milky way from just the naked eye. I wasn't as lucky the other evening but there are some definite captures of Jupiter amongst the stars... Read on for some info on how to photograph the night sky yourself...
DSLR Camera - full frame or crop sensor, it doesn't matter which!
Wide angle lens - around 16mm minimum (Landscape lenses do the trick)
Batteries (spares because invariably it's quite cold and they drain quicker!)
Remote shutter release
I recently invested in a Pixel RW Wireless shutter remote which you can find on Amazon
