Photographer of the week: Cochalita
Cochalita receives the Photographer of the Week - award, because her still life compositions are incredibly full of feeling. She takes us on a journey of soft colours, vibrant contrasts and tells us secret stories about everyday objects.
It's those details she pays so much attention to, that make her art so mesmerizing.
Congratulations, Cochalita !
Artistle Features Vol. X: 'Deep in the meadow''Deep in the meadow, hidden far away
A cloak of leaves, A moonbeam ray,
Forget your woes and let your troubles lay
And when again it's morning, they'll wash away.
Here it's safe, here it's warm
Here the daisies guard you from every harm
Here your dreams are sweet and tomorrow brings them true
Here is the place where I love you.'

This is a guest feature written by mondscheinsonate instead of AlexanderPaupoff .
The reason for this is, that I recently read the Hunger Games trilogy and was so inspired by the books that I just had t
Wanted: Artists to give live lessonsI've been wanting to adress the community about this idea for a while now, so here I finally go!
The big idea
I'm looking for artists here on deviantART who are willing to share some of their experiences, skills and knowledge with the community.
If you're one of those artists, you might want to consider teaching a live lesson on the chat network!
We (Artistle) want to host regular live lessons by different artists about an artform of their choosing.
The audience will be able to ask questions after the lesson and also get feedback on their work given the artist would like to do so.
Your audience, eager to learn
The whole experience is meant to be inspiring and helpful for both the artist giving the lesson as for the audience.
The lessons can be given with all methods possible; including live streaming, using artworks or sketches as examples and interact with the audience to maybe even create something during the chat event.
TeamWork #4 - Sign-up sheetIf you don't know what this is about, please read more about it here.
This sign-up sheet will close on Sunday, 2 November 2014.
Please add a comment below telling us a bit about you, your art and what genre you'd like to teach.
The participants wishing to be your team-partner will reply to your comment. We will then list you two as a team.
Read through the comments written by teachers and see which topic or genre fits your learning-wishes best.
If you found one, simply reply to that comment and we'll match you two as a team.
Please don't comment on this journal for any other reason than signing up for the project!
Please don't comment on this journal to apply as a student, only reply to already existing teacher-offers in the comments.
If there are no teachers left, please consider teaching someone yourself. It can be a lot of fun and I'm sure everyone has
TeamWork #4Dear artists, inspirers, learners and teachers;
welcome to the fourth round of the TeamWork project.
We embraced your feedback from the last rounds, so before we begin the project there will be a week of promotion for the project; then we will open the sign-up sheet and have that open for 2 weeks.
We hope you're ready and just as excited as we are about this!
So tell your friends, watchers and fellow deviants about the project, so we can have a whole lot of fun and learning!
What is the project about?
The aim is to team up two (or more) artists to achieve a close and individual learning-experience.
One of the two will be the teacher, whereas the other will be the student. (But our teachers will learn through this project just as much, I'm sure )
Teachers will present assignments to their students and provide them with tools, techniques and lessons to achieve the goal they both decided on.
In the end we'll pre

TeamWork 2014 - round-upIt's been an amazing month full of teaching, learning and having fun!
Yesterday we had our final chat event where we not only saw most of the teams artworks, but also talked about teaching methods and experiences. We handed out three awards to three of our teams. Here they come, summarized again.
Award for Outstanding Teamwork went to...
anireal and her two students OanaZ and Skarlet-kitten !
They won several prizes, including a winner's badge:
This team obviously had teamwork down. To begin with, they weren't a traditional teacher-student combo, but had three members. anireal dealt with that very well and her students were always open for criticism, references and lessons.
Their final artworks:
Award for Most Overall Improvemen
Octopus Accessories - art thieveshttp://www.octopus-store.ro/
this is their store. They are Octopus Acessories
This is their facebook page https://www.facebook.com/OctopusAccessories
They had my drawings printed and were selling necklaces with them. They also lied to me that they did not steal them and took them from from some deviant who supposedly stole them first.
They sent me this link to this deviant :iconxyqueen: but the drawings that belong to me were submitted 12 hours ago. So obviously this couldn't be true since Nijikon was over 12 hours ago, and they had them for sale since 3 days ago.
This girl is so shameless, she lied to my face! She made me feel bad about calling her out and "making a scene" in front of her booth. OMG! And i believed her, i could have had her kicked out of the convention on the spot! She made me apologize for making a scene in front of her booth So she stole my art, and i was the one who apologized.
THAT. IS. WRONG.
Wow, if thievery was a game, she would be the final boss

Honey, We're Getting a MonsterfancyQUACKS
A really hungry one...
Naughty monsters are running rampant in the city again - you know the kind! They're short, noisy and make constant mischief on our doorsteps; begging for candy despite buying perfectly good pumpkins the same day. What's their dastardly plan for all that food? They're up to no good and must be stopped.
We should feed the trick-or-treaters - to hungry, real monsters! There's a critter-shaped hole to this plan: we don't actually have any real monsters. But all we need are your designs to put into my Monster Making Machine to release them into the suburbs! Trick-or-treaters - gobbled up for good!
How does this work? I'm glad you asked. The "Monster Maker 2000" is my old, modified microwave and this invention will create flesh-and-blood monsters from designs. A little energy combined with your designs will help bring our glorious abomination to life.

Monthly Theme FANTASY vote and win points:iconthefavouriteshowcase:
This is the new way to find our winner of our monthly challenge at TheFavouriteShowcase: instead of using a Poll with the ten most voted of the period, we'll be using a blog to showcase the 20 MOST VOTED on this theme!
This means, or so I hope, more exposure for your pieces and galleries.
The idea is simple: each work has a number and all deviants have the opportunity to vote like if it was a poll...with the difference that you will choose not one but 3 favourites!
All deviants may vote, INCLUSIVE who is participating; the participants may vote for themselves and ask friends and watchers to vote; this blog may have publicity by all means and be submitted in groups.
The work with most votes wins 130 points;
the second place wins 80, the 3rd place wins 50 and the 4th wins 25 .
These prizes can be updated for the next themes with the help of our friends:

Do you/a friend Need Exposure for Adoptables? I've recently found people who have made these really nice adoptables, at least artistically I think they're really well done. And then it pains me to see when very few people bid on them, and this amazing creation can only sell for like, $5 or something.
Now I've never tried adoptables, and I'm not sure I completely understand how they work, but what I do know is that it seems artists who do them are really at the mercy of how much exposure they get. In that way, it's much like everything else; if you don't have the numbers, really great work goes unnoticed and sells for a handful of jelly beans.
So I'm going to do a journal that features Adoptables.
Do you have, or know someone who is selling *nice quality* adoptables but really needs exposure on them? Leave a thumbnail or link in this journal, and maybe I'll choose them for my feature. I can't showcase them all, but I'd certainly like to try and get a few out there.
The world gets harder for artists all the time
1,500,000 KiribanI don't ever do Kiribans but I'm doing an exception this time.
First person to take a screen cap of my profile at 1,500,000 pageviews and sent it to me in a NOTE will get a 50x50 pixel icon + 1000
Screen cap must be uploaded to STA.SH (or to your gallery, if you prefer)
Of course screen cap must be legit. If I suspect you cheating, don't expect to get anything :/
~Pixel Commissions CLOSED!~Hey guys!!~♥ Thank you so very much for commissioning me! I have a very full work list and I have raised enough for a premium membership for my secondary account!!
My next opening with sales will probably be around Thanksgiving~ Though, by then, I would have my other account up and running ;; v ;; I look forward to starting commissions there in the future!
Hey guys!~ Long time without update XD
I'm just about set to make the secondary account, HOWEVER, I'd like to start the account off with premium membership to have a professional and welcoming kick-start
With a steady-paced scheduel of mine, I would like to open pixel commissions only to raise enough for the premium membership. My goal is $30USD because deviantART no longer offers 3-month prepaid premium membership. :iconshameplz:
♥ Paypal preferred, but points are definitley welcome!~

(Check for timezones and your local time for this event here.)
The second of them is going to be on
